| DataShield is a complete backup service and fulfils
all the requirements mandatory to a reliable backup
system and more:
Basic Requirements:
Data Analysis
A
DataShield Technician will determine what your data
backup requirements are and determine what should be
included in the daily backup. Other data that may need
to be backed up are email systems, databases, accounting
data etc.
Hardware Analysis
DataShield
technicians will also verify your hardware
infrastructure, to ensure that it is of an acceptable
state that will allow for a reliable backup to take
place. Any areas of concern will be pointed out and
repaired or replaced as needed.
Data Administration
A DataShield Technician will relocate data where
required, in order to optimize the backup process and
ensure that data is backed up reliably and securely e.g.
placing all users data on a centralized server, instead
of leaving their data on their own workstation, which
would be prone to compromised security and unstable
levels of data reliability.
Installation
and setup
1. Technician will setup DataShield Software
2. Data will be selected and a backup catalogue of
selected data will be printed out and signed by customer
and technician. At any time other data can be added to
the backup catalogue.
3. Setup and configuration of backup schedule. This
includes:
a. The time the backup process will run.
b. Setting up confirmation email settings
c. The type of backup that will be performed
d. Minimum disk space notification
4. Technician will then test the backup to see if the
setup has been successful and the process is running
smoothly.
Off site data Storage
According to the customer’s requirements, a DataShield
Technician will remove the latest backup disk and
replace it with another. Data that is taken off-site is
stored in a secure location, and guarded against theft,
fire, flooding etc
Data Restoration
When needed, a DataShield technician will be called in
to expertly restore data that is requested by the
client. |
